Inspection on covered well project activities in Palaru River!

palarRanipet council head Ms. Chitra Santhosh and collector S. Parijatham conducted direct inspections on the progress of setting covered wells in the river Palaru at a cost of Rs. 30 Lakhs.

Under the drought relief scheme, a project to meet the drinking water needs of ranipet residents with an additional supply of 3 lakh litres per day, setting up new covered wells in the river Palaru, laying of pipe-lines and cables, etc are in progress.

In order to expedite the progress, the senior officials made personal visits to assess the progress.

The project of setting up new covered wells which will meet the additional demand of the residents for drinking water will be completed in 10 days.

New pipe-lines are being laid replacing the old ones from the Head pumping station and this is nearing completion. Once this is over, public distribution will start.
