More than 700 students appeared for a maths talent test conducted at the District Science Centre on Sunday.
The talent test was organised to commemorate the birth anniversary of mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.
The test was jointly organised by the Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre and the Ramanujan Museum and Math Education Centre, Chennai, at the science centres at Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruchi and Vellore.
The test was conducted for students from class V to VIII.
Students from government, panchayat and private schools from various parts of Vellore district and also from Tiruvannamalai took part in the test.
The tests are being conducted for the past 2 years.
The test consisted of about 100 multiple choice questions covering sections such as numerical reasoning, problem solving, logical reasoning, number sequence, find out the missing number and a few sums.
While students in classes V and VI had to answer 75 out of the 100 questions, those in the classes VII and VIII had to answer all the questions.
