On the occasion of the celebration of the 53rd National Pharmacy Week, an exhibition would be organised near the ISSCC Building at the CMC Hospital here from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on December 10.
The 53rd National Pharmacy Week being celebrated by the Pharmacy Services of the Christian Medical College from December 8 to 14.
The focus of the celebration is to highlight the importance of pharmacy in health and disease, and to increase awareness about safe use of drugs. The theme of the celebration this year is, `Responsible use of medicines: Role of Pharmacist’.
Besides the exhibition, the other events include quiz programme (December 11) and slogan and essay competition for the public and health care professionals.
The exhibition would have six stalls highlighting:
Information on drugs, storage, safe use and directions for use,
Focus on special populations such as geriatric/paediatric patients and pregnant women
Provide patient counselling, one on effect of smoking and alcohol abuse
Diabetic education and asthma education.
