India’s first ATM was opened in Chennai at Theagaraya Nagar by the finance minister Mr. P. Chidambaram. He announced that Information Technology Development Centres will be opened at 1,55,000 Centres.
He informed that Rs, 4,909 Crores has been allocated for IT Development.
