An army official informed in Arkonam that the missing plane would be located and found soon.
INS Rajali Naval Base, owned by the central government, is located in Arkonam. This centre has a long runway, a large swimming pool, and helicopter training facility.
Candidates trained here are apoointed for security jobs all over the country.
The event of completion of training of the 12 trainees was ceebrated at the centre yesterday (Thursday, 19th June).
Naval Base Captain Fisharodi welcomed the gathering.
The chief training coach and Rear Admiral Kadirpillai was rthe Chief Guest. He was taken around in an open jeep to watch the parade.
He distributed the certificates to 9 Naval Cadets and 3 Coast Guard Security cadets on completion of their training.
The best all-round performer, A C Paul was given Kerala Governor’s Rolling Cup and felicitated him. He addressed the gathering:
‘So far, 626 traines have completed training in this centre at Arkonam. They are posted on security services in various locations across the country like Mumbai, Port Blair, Goa, Cochin, Viasakhapattinam, Daman, etc.
I felicitate the trainers who gave excellent training and the trainees who successfully completed their training.
21 weeks of high-class & intensive training has been imparted.
The training makes them confident to handle any type of natural environment.
Please do your duty qith 100% effort as you are in charge of the nation’s security.’
After this address, Rear Admiral Kadirpillai had a session with the press reporters.
Recently, a plan of the naval security which took off from Chennai has gone missing. All are fully engaged in efforts to locate the plane. Latest news is that they have reached the spot near where the plane is lying. So, the plane will be identified shortly. Only after that, full details will be known.
16 new helicopters with the the latest technology & features are to be handed over to the navy. With this, the trainees will be given the the latest techniques.
The highlight of the event was the roving around of the helicopters during the parade. This caught the huge attention from the spectators.
