Traditionally, the 2 grand events organised at the famous Tirupathi temple every year are the Brahmotsavam & Vaikunta Ekadasi.
Generally, Lakhs of devotees eagerly await during these occasions for Darshan & worship of the Lord venkateswara.
During the last year 2015, the festival on the occasion of Vaikunta Ekadasi was performed twice in the Tirupathi temple on 1st January & 21stDecember.
However, the temple administration authorities have informed that there will be no festical of Vaikunt Ekadasi during 2016.
However, probably to compensate for this, the festival of Vaikunta Ekadasi will be celebrated twice during the year 2017 on 9th January & 29thDecember.
The list of festivals for the year 2016 has been released by TTD (Tirupathi Thirumalai Devasthanam):
Brahmotsavam will be celebrated from 3rd October till 11th October.
‘Garuda Sevai’ will be celebrated on 7th October. ‘Ratha Bhavani (Chariot Procession) will be celebrated on 8th October. Bigger Chariot Procession will be celebrated on 10th October. ‘Chakkarasthanam’ will be celebrated on 11th October.
Paarivettai will be celebrated on 15th January. Rathasapthami will be celebrated on 7th February.
Theppam Festival will be celebrated from 19th March till 21st March.‘Yugami aasthavai’ will be celebrated on 8th April. Sri Ramar Pattabhishekham will be performed on 15th April.
Vasantha Utsavam will be celebrated from 19th April till 21st April.
Padmavathi Thayar Parinaya Utsavam will be celebrated from 16th May till 18th May. ‘Aanivara Aasthavai’ will be celebrated on 16th July. Pushpayagam will be celebrated on 7th November.
