Tamil Film Producers’ Association has informed that only 9 films out of the 103 released so far in this year have given profits.
In a notification on the above news, it mentions that 103 films have been released this year from January to August, 2015, with the support of the Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Association so far. Out of this, 23 films are high-budget movies. The remaining 80 belong to the medium & small-scale budget. For these 103 films, the producers have spent an amount of Rs. 750 Crores.
Most of these producers, almost up to 90%, who invested Rs. 750 Crores in producing these There are 20 high-budget films and 4 small-budget films have been sold for satellite rights. films, have met with losses. The rest of the movies have not been bought y an television channel.
An important point to be noted is that only 9 films out of these 103 films have managed to earn profits for its producers & distributors. The balance films have all ended up as colossal losses for the producers & distributors.
