Petition to Vellore Collector to reopen the 86 factories closed in Ranipet!

RanipetA petition was given to Vellore Collector to reopen the 86 factories remaining closed in Ranipet.

Public Grievance Meeting was conducted yesterday (9th March, Monday). Vellore Collector presided over the meeting.

Over 500 petitions regarding senior citizens’ pension, assistance for differently-abled persons, Widows’ assistance, and ration cards were received during the meeting.

The collector received the petitions and ordered for immediate corrective action.

Closed SIPCOT factories

In their petition, the employees og SIPCOT SIDCO Phase-1 employees, they explained their current situation.

In a recent accident when an effluent tank of tannry plant burst, 10 people died. As a result, the district administration ordered closures of 86 factories in SIPCOT SIDCO Phase-1 area in order to avoid future such accidents. Electric power was cut off and the factories were locked and sealed.

However, the officials & employees of these factories were greatly affected. There are more than 100000 people who lost their jobs I the plants around the area.

Hence, it is requested the electric powermust be immeditaley restored and the factories should be opened to function.

Drinking water

In another petition, the public from Karnavoor in Kaveripakkam Taluk, it is represented that the deep bore-well in the Mahendrawadi lake was primarily used for drinking water. However, the lands in the lake area have been occupied suddenly when many more deep bore-wells have been sunk. This has depleted the water level in the deep borewell used by these people. When this was represented to the village admistrator, he promised to making a new deep bore well. However, PTO office officials informed no funds were allocated for the same. So, we are put to great hardships of bringing water for the last 30 years bringing water from a distance of 1 km. We request immediate action.

Free house-plot patta

In the petition submitted by the Vellore Corporation Councillor, Ward No, 35, Mr. Soolai Selvam, it is represented that there are 500 families reasiding in the backside of the Murugan Koil Street over the last 50 years in this Ward 35. They are all below poverty line. They have requested for the free house patta for their residence several times. No action has bee taken. WE request immediate action.

Handing over of child

A boy infan, only a few days’ old, was recently found in the Adukkamparai government Hospital on 17th February by the medical staff. The infant was admitted in the hospital for first-aid treatment and then the collector initiated to hane over the child under the Child Cradle Scheme. The child was handed over  in presence of the district social Officer Ms. Hagida to Tirpathur Special Adotion Foundation’s Director, Ms. Tamizharasi for brining up the child.

Assistance

6 women of ex-military family were given sewing machines worth Rs, 5,218/-. 5 government employees who collected more than Rs. 1 Lakh each on Flag Day were given medals & certificates.

Many local senior officials participated.
