Following close at the heels of the now resolved ‘Vishwaroopam’ drama, the Christian Democratic Party has now demanded that ace director Mani Ratnam’s movie ‘Kadal’ be banned.
Archbishop Murthy said that there are 6 scenes in the film that hurt Christian sentiments and that the film’s producer Mr. Manohar Prasad and the director Mr. Mani Ratnam should be arrested. He has filed an FIR to the effect.
According to Mr. Murthy, the film talks of the devil and Jesus as brothers in one scene. In another, a priest (played by Arvind Swamy) admits defeat to the Devil. This, among other scenes that allude to Jesus, are not acceptable.
