A 1-day’ strike was observed by the LIC Employees all over India against the passing of Insurance Act 1015 and the efforts of privatisation of Insurance.
In Vellore, around 180 persons joined in the strike.
There was a demonstration/protest by thje LIC Employees Union in front of the LIC office at Arcot Road in Vellore against the privatisation of insurance. Vellore Regional Head, Mr. Dasarathan, led the demonstration. Mr. G Ramakrishnan, Secretary of Tamil Nadu CPM, was the Chief Invitee and he addressed the gathering.
