Paracetamol tablets are generally taken by people as analgesics are pain-relievers.
Medical Experts have now warned that pregnant women should not take paracetamol tablets.
London’s Edinburgh University experts participated in this research.
Paracetamol was administered to pregnant rats. It was found that the female rats born to these rats has smaller wombs and lesser number of eggs,Hence, this generation of rats produced lesser number of rats. Even the sperm count of the male rats born thus was very less. This led to lesser procreation activities among the rats.
Generally, the trend of procreation between humans & rats is more or less the same. Hence, the researchers have cautioned that pregnant women should avoid taking paracetamol tablets.
