‘World DNA Day’ was celebrated at VIT University. More than 350 students from South India Universities participated.
A seminar, quiz programme, essay-writing competition, and a debate were organised on the occasion.
During his closing address by Mr. G Viswanathan, Chancellor of VIT University, informed that further research is required on hereditary diabetes.
Though advance research has been undertaken on genes, remarkable achievements are yet to happen. Essentially, research on hereditary diabetes is very essentially required now.Students should take the responsibility for creating awareness on diabetics to the public and also undertake intensive research on this issue.
Professor Ms. Radhasaraswathi from the Bio-technology Institute, informed that VIT University Bio-technology institute has been organising several diabetes prevention camps in Vellore District with the help of the State government. The camps help create awareness about the reasons for diabetics among the public.
