Sorga Vasal’ (Doors of Paradise) Opened in all Lord Vishnu Temples on the Auspicious day of ‘Vaikunata Ekadasi’

hqdefaultThe ceremony of opening of  ‘Sorga Vasal’ (Doors of Paradise) was performed grandly in all temples dedicated Lord Vishnu today (Monday, 21st December).

 

 

 

Lakhs of devotees awaited eagerly and had a grand Darshan of the Lord in all Vaishnavite temple located across entire state of Tamil Nadu including Srirangam, (Tirupathi), Salem, and Chennai.

 

The ceremony of Sorga Vasal opening was performed at the famous Lord Rangantha Swamy temple at Srirangam in the early morning. The deity taken out for processions was adorned with ‘Rathna Angi’, Pandian Kondai, and Kilimalai and taken out from the Sanctum Sanctorum.

 

Taking a cruclar route via Mahendran Thiruchutru, the deity was brought to Paramapadha Vasal. Sorga Vasal was opened by 5.00 AM.

 

In the famous Tirupathi Lord Srinivasa or ‘Ezhumalaiyan ‘ temple, special poojas were performed as per tradition on the auspicious day of Vaikunta Ekadasi and then ‘Sorga Vasal’ was opened. Lakhs of devotees had a grand Darshan of the Lord despite the severe cold and snowfall.

 

In the famous Sri Parthasarathy Temple in Triplicane, Chennai, ‘Sorga Vasal’ was opened by 4.30 AM. Lord Parthasarathy Swamy offered Darshan in the form of Lord Venkatakrishnan with His Consorts Sri Devi & Bhoo Devi to the Vaishnavite saint Nammalwar.
