For the first ever time in Tamil Nadu, a new special wards has been opened for the children treatment with cartoon dolls! This is to be inaugurated by the Vellore district collector, Mr. R. Nandhagopal, today (18th February).
Vellore Adukkamparai government medical college & hospital was opened in the year 2004. Lots of patients come here for treatment.
A new special children welfare ward has been set up here.
The head of the children medical department, Dr. Theranirajan, informed:
Under the Chief Minister’s expanded insurance scheme, a special ward, called ‘Amma medical Insurance Ward’ has been set up in the children’s intensive care centre. It is also known as ‘500 ward’.
In this ward with 30 beds, each child is being taken care of a separate nurse. New methods have been implemented for the first ever time in Tamil Nadu.
There is a button kept near each bed. Pressing the button will switch on the lamp at the Doctor’s cabin.
In order relive the children affected with mental tension and extreme pains, several cartoon characters including Dora, Bujji, etc have been hung from the ceiling.
Stickers of painting have been fixed on all sides of walls.
This is the first ever time in Tamil Nadu that such a children’s ward has been set up in Tamil Nadu!
This is a special amenity for the poor segment of the Vellore public. It is being inaugurated today (Wednesday, 18th February) by the vellore district collector, Mr. R. Nandhakumar.
