State Bank of India, on the occasion of the recent International Women’s Day, has decided to open SBI branches with entire women staff in each of the 688 districts in the country in order to encourage the women entrepreneurs.
State Bank of India CEO Ms. Arundhathi Bhattacharya informed the p[ress reporters that SBI has already opened complete women-staff branches in each state. SBI operates with the motto that banking is for everyone.
With the consideration that women should progress in ife, SBI has now planned to open branches staffed entirely by women in each district in India. This means that all the 688 districts in India will have State Bank of India branches staffed entirely by women.
On the occasion of the International Day, this decision is State Bank of India’s rededication to women welfare. SBI is making all-out efforts to ensure the safe environment for women employees.
An all-women run SBI branch would be easier for women customers to avail the services.
Another factor is that this will encourage the women entrepreneurs in smaller cities and villages to venture.
State Bank of India has a 23% contribution in financial services of self-help women’s groups.All women-staffed SBI branches will function like Bharathiya Mahila Bank.
