The seeds research official has issued stern warning that those who try to sell seeds without official permit will face severe legal action.
The report:As per the central government’s Seeds regulation Act, a fee of Rs. 50/- to Rs. 1000/- is charged to obtain permit for selling seeds . Renewal of permit will cost Rs. 20/- to Rs. 500/-. Any delay in renewal will entail additional Rs. 25/- to Rs. 500/- for delays over amonth in renewal.
This is in effect from 12th December.
Hence, it is advised that seeds can be sold only after getting a permit. Also, timely renewal of the permit before expiry is compulsory.
Severe action will be taken on those who try to sell seeds without proper permit.
