As a step to prevent Palar river, the Palar Pathukappu Vizhipunarvu Iyakkam, on Sunday, held a public meet at RTO road demanding to take necessary steps to prevent the effluents from industries, sewage water, etc.
This rally was initiated by Kanchi Amuthan – a personnel belonging to the Palar Protection Joint Movement. The public meet was presided by the organizer – S.N.S. Marthandan.
One interesting aspect of the event is the audio CD release which contained songs on the river Palar. The first copy of the CD was given to a functionary of the movement – M.Pushpa Rani.
