Surprise checking by Vellore Collector: Surveillance cameras to be installed at Vellore Fort!

fortVellore district collector, Mr. R. Nandhagopal, conducted a surpise check at the Vellore Fort yesterday (Tuesday, 5th May).

He informed that surveillance monitoring cameras would be installed in the fort.

Vellore Fort is a popular touring spot.

Jalaganteswarar Temple and museums are located here. Tourists frm all over the country & abroad visit these places.

Renovation activities have been undertaken for the fort in order to attract more tourists.

In this scenario, the district collector made a surprise check at the fort. He visited the museum and observed some of the antique items.

The collector informed that various activities will be undertaken to keep the Vellore fort (under the custody of the Archaeological Department) clean & healthy with the help of the city corporation.

As per this,. Fort should be cleaned once a week.

Drinking water tanks will be set up at suitable locations for the tourists. New paths will be laid after removing the thorny bushes in the existing path. All garbage will be removed. New LED lamps will be installed.

Surveillance cameras will be installed at the fort entrance & temple entrance. This will help prevent any anti-social activities in the tourist zone. Security will also be deployed.

Indian Archaeological Department will extend full cooperation.

All senior officials participated.
