Police were deployed from the Railway Protction Force to carry out surprise checks at Katpadi Railway station from January through December during the year 2014.
Cases were booked on 2680 individuals for various offences such as ticket less travelling, males occupying ladies’ compartment, transgenders harassing passengers, etc.
They were fined and a total amount of Rs. 4,68,700/- was collected as the penalty.
