Tamil Nadu Election in-charge Mr. Rajesh Lakhani informed during his session with the press reporters that as the election is approaching, there should be no disturbances for the political party members. Voters should also not be disturbed.
Accordingly, the election commission has ordered that arrangement must be made to ensure fair and free and peaceful election.
Election Commission desires 100% voting. So, everyone must vote. Do not think about the long queue in the polling booths. If sms is sent asking for details about the number of voters in the queue, the detail will be immediately replied.
SMS has to be sent to the number 1950. The Voter ID No has to be entered in the sms. The details regarding the location of the polling booth, details regarding whether the name is included in the voters’ list, etc will be replied.
So, it is a must for everyone to keep Voter ID. Those who do not have Voter ID can apply online. If the payment is made through Speed Post, the Voter ID will be sent to the address within 15 days.
If the application for Voter ID is made in the Taluk office, or Deputy Collector’s office or collector’s office, it will be ready within 15 days.
This will be functional from 14th March.
363 voting service centres have been set up. If Rs. 25/- is paid along with the application in these centres, new Voter IDs will be ready within 15 days.
The activity of removing posters and wall-pasting is being carried out throughout Tamil Nadu. So far, around 70000 posters & stickers have been removed in the state of Tamil Nadu including 13000 in Chennai Metro City.
During the checking carried out in Ramanathapuram, 120 kgs of Ganja has been caught.
While checking is being done on the election arrangements, unlawful acts against the public are also being prevented.

There should be no suspicion that money is being carried in government vehicles and ambulances. It is difficult to function if there is no confidence on government officials. Similar officers are posted in polling booths as well.
All vehicle-checking activates are captured in the video. Public meetings & wall-posters will all be taken on video and kept safely. Political parties must explain this.
All basic facilities will be provided in all polling booths (4 per constituency) for 1000 model booths.
Central Protection Force will be shortly arriving in Tamil Nadu. The disturbance-prone polling booths will be inspected by the Election Observing Committee.
28000 polling booths will be monitored through Web-cameras and 10000 polling booths will be monitored on cameras.
