A recent release from Vellore Collector Mr. Nandhagopal informs that the project of correcting and gathering the Voters’ list was undertaken in Vellore district as per the National Election Commission’s Order. This was implemented from 1st March.
As per this scheme, election poll-booth officials visited every house and obtained the Aadhar card number, cell-phone number, and e-mail address. As per the list made, the officials could make another list of persons who did not live in the given address, voters who had died, persons who shifted, and those who had given more than 1 addre3ss. This list has been published in the office of the Assistant Officer (Voter Registration), Tashildar Office, and the office of the Assistant collector (Voter Registration).
The voters can check these lists and if there are any objections, they can submit a petition with the residence proofs either in person or through a representative within 7 days.
