Vellore Collector Mr. R. Nandhagopal has instructed that every Panchayat in Vellore district must organise Grama-sabha meeting on Republic Day, 26thJanuary.The state government has issued this order for 2015 to conduct grama-sabha meeting in every Panchayat. In Vellore, all Panchayat presidents have been informed about this.
During the meeting, issues such as the administration for the period from October 2014 & December 2014 and the budget of the public finds will be discussed.
Other issues to be discussed include maintenance of administrative buildings/premises, renovation plans for the year 2015-16, Dengue prevention activities, removal of ‘seemaikkuvelamaram’ in the rural areas, health, Indira Memorial residential plan 2015-16, Mother welfare plan, Green-houses with solar effect, development progress and fund-requirement for other major projects undertaken in the area, womwn welfare plans, reformed life plan, India Prime Minister’s village roads plan, maintenance of solar-powered street lights in rural areas, voters’ rights & duties, Cooperative Child Welfare plans.
Members elected by publicand Tashildars must participate in the Grama-sabha meetings. Regional officers have been appointed to monitor the conduct & progress of the grama-sabha meetings.
