Railway officials have expressed hopes that wi-fi facility will be provided in 50 railway stations in Tamil Nadu including Chennai Egmore, Trichy, Madurai, Thirunelveli, and Coimbatore.
8 railway stations in Tamil Nadu including Chennai Central & Egmore, Madurai, Coimbatore, & Trichy have been categorized as ‘A1’ type. 42 stations including Tirunelveli, Thanjavur, Salem, Erode, Tirpur, & Dinidgul have been catergorised under ‘A’ type.
When talking about this, the Railway Officials explained that railways have introduced new Apps to facilitate passengers to make complaints. Lakhs of passengers benefit on a daily basis with this introduction.
50 railway stations in Tamil Nadu have been grouped and categorized in 2 types – ‘A1’ & ‘A’. Chennai Central station has already been provided with wi-fi facility. Madurai, Coimbatore, Trichy & Thirunelveli railway stations will be provided with wi-fi facility shortly.
A decision will be taken only after receiving the order from the railways department.
