Tamil Nadu Agricultural University to hold training programme on millet production

A two-day training programme on millet production and value addition will be organized on March 10 and 11 by The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. The Department is organizing this programme to expose participants to the critical technologies for enhancing millet productivity. The training programme is free. The university has urged millet growing farmers and women SHGs to register for the training and derive optimal benefit.

Intake of Protein rich food is as harmful as smoking: Scientists

Scientists in their latest study claimed that eating lot of protein-rich food (like meat and eggs) increases the risk of cancer, which is almost as much as smoking 20 cigarettes a day. The research report says that over-aged people who east protein-rich foods are four times likely to die of cancer than those who eats a little.

Rules regarding election campaign

While permission for the conduct of election campaign meetings would be given on a ‘first-come, first-served basis’ to political parties which applied 48 hours to 72 hours before the time of the meeting, priority would be given for meetings to be addressed by national, state, district, panchayat union and town-level leaders, in that order. This would be as per the list of such leaders to be furnished by the respective political parties, based on a consensus among the parties, according to P. Vijayakumar, Superintendent of Police, Vellore district.
