The popular e-mail service provider, ‘G-mail’, has introduced 2 new features (in the form of buttons) – ‘Block’ & ‘Unsubscribe’ to enable some respite & freedom from the pile of unnecessary e-mails being received every day.
In the first phase, this facility has been introduced in the computers (desktops & laptops). It will be extended to Android cell-phones in a week’s time.
Google’s Production Manager Sri Harsha Somanji informed that gmail users tend to get piles of unwanted incoming mails. We would prefer to believe it is not so. However, if this trend continues, the user can activate the system to stop receiving mails from a particular source.
In other words, mails from selected sources can be blocked. This facility is being introduced from today (Friday, 25th September) in all the personal computers (desktops & laptops) and all the smart phones (android) in a week’s time.
Mails which get blocked thus will be transferred to ‘Spam’ folder. If the user wants to see/use the mail again, he/she can unblock the mail and bring it back to the mail system. Another facility ‘unsubscribe’, is also being introduced in all computers and android phones.
With this facility, the user can unsubscribe the unwanted messages from the mail-box. With this, even the earlier mails before pressing the ‘unsubscribe’ button, will also get removed. It is worth noting here that Google had introduced the facility to withdraw any message sent within 30 seconds in last June.
