A.K. Ranganathan (78), the first All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam MLA from the Vellore Assembly Constituency died of a heart attack at the CMC Hospital here in the early hours of Thursday.
Mr. Ranganathan was elected on the AIADMK ticket from the Vellore Assembly Constituency in the 1977 elections which saw the party founder MGR leading the AIADMK to victory for the first time in the State.
