Counting of votes will commence at 8.00 AM at the 42 Centres in Tamil Nadu. Every room will have 14 tables where counting will be done. First round results will be out by 9.00 AM.
Even though the elections are completed for 39 constituencies in Tamil Nadu, counting is scheduled to begin only after 3 weeks, on 16th May. The ballot boxes will be kept safe & secure in strong rooms.
When the counting starts at 8.00 AM on 16th May, Postal votes will be counted first. It may take even up to 6.00 PM for counting all the votes in any one constituency and declare the results.
The candidates and their agents may be permitted inside the counting centre to see the counting action in progress. But they will not be allowed to carry cell-phones.
