In spite of regular functioning of Villupuram-vellore passenger train since past 2 years, the parcel service has not yet resumed. Because of this, people from Vellore and Thiruvannamalai including many traders, students and employees are hugely affected.
Previously, this parcel service was made available in few stations which are:
- Polur
- Arani road
- Vellore
- Tirukkoyilur
When enquired to the sources at the railway, they reported that fishes from Sathanur dam and several commercial goods like household vessels were transported using the parcel service when the parcel train services were available.
