ISRO (Indian Space research Organisation) has announced that the satellite G-SAT 15 will be launched through the rocket ‘ARIAN-5’ from French Guyana on Tuesday, 10thNovember.
ISRO has been manufacturing satellites and the rockets BSLV & GSLV to launch them.
Satellites are launched through rockets from Sriharikots, near Chennai, at the launch-pad ‘SatishDhawan’.
ISRO launched 2 satellites – GSAT-14 through rocket GSLV-D5 on 6th January & satellite GSAT-6 through rocket GSLV-D5 on 27th August – to gather details of communication time phenomenon in advance.
Now, with the purpose of gathering details on time-change status of communication, ISRO has planned to launch satellite G-SAT15 with the latest technology.
This satellite is scheduled to be launched from French Guyana in South America at KORU launching station through ARIAN rocket on Tuesday, 10th November.
ISRO scientists explained that the satellite G-SAT15 fitted with latest technology is being launched to gather details regarding changes in time on the communications exchange in advance. The scientists are engaged full-time in the plan to lauch this satellite from French Guyana on 10th November. Q-band instruments have been fitted in this satellite to gauge the changes in communication exchange, to guide the transport department and the changes in the time-zones. The satellite with a weight of 3164.5 kg costs Rs. 860 Crores.
Along with the G-SAT15 satellite, another satellite ORBSAT-6B is also being lauched through the rocket ARIAN-5 for the purpose of telecommunication & satellite Television Telecasting in South African countries.
