The National Institute Of Technology (NIT) Students were strike on Tuesday demanding that authorities address issues concerning the institute. The NIT Institute were established Engineering labs for the Students On EEE Sstudents. They have to go for practical work at the local government polytechnic laboratory, Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Institute of Technology (PKIT) and the Arts and Science College laboratory, which are inadequate, complain the students.
there are insufficient number of classrooms to accommodate all students. ” Funny thing is one batch of students are always standing out due to unavailability of classrooms,” complained a dejected student. Teaching staff too is temporary with the institute yet to have its own dedicated faculty due to the inordinate delay in appointment of permanent staff. The functioning of its training and placement cell has been halted with its activities never getting proper approval even as the first batch of the college nears the end of the their third year.
In NIT Institute, 22 Faculty members and 12 Non teaching members are under process.The mentorship of NIT Trichy was fading as the institute had to give opportunities to its own students and could not accommodate our students during weekdays
