Power failure which occurred at around 2.00 PM on Friday, 19thDecember in the section between Mosur-Thiruavangadu stations in the Chennai-Arkonam train route, forced the trains to stop at several places suddenly. The signalling system was also disturbed.
The passengers in the Chennai-Bangalore were exposed to severe hardships as the train stopped suddenly.
2 electric trains proceeding to Arkonam and 1 electric train proceeding to Chennai were all stopped.
The fault in the transformer was rectified by 3.20 PM and the power was restored. The trains started running again.
