All 500 village administrative officers in Vellore district are to be trained in registration of births and deaths online, according to Vellore Collector P. Sankar.
A training programme for the VAOs in Vellore and Katpadi taluks at the Collectorate here on Wednesday, Mr. Sankar said that birth certificates are important documents of age proof during school admission and polling.
Once the details are fed into the computer, applicants can obtain birth and death certificates in the form of computer printouts.
