On Monday 28 January 2013 Sealed Two shops in Vellore Due to non-payment of monthly rent by the shopkeepers for several months.The Government allocated 24 spaces at the Bus stand, Which has been rented to the Shops for the monthly charges of Rs. 20,000.
Most of the Shops were paid the rents regularly while seven shops continued to operate without paying rent for more than eight months despite being issued several notices by the Corporation. So, The Government has planned to seal those Shops outlets – No 9, 12, 13, 14, 19 and 24. Only shops 13 and 19 were sealed after the remaining shopkeepers appealed to officials.
