A total of 120 persons in Vellore district were selected by a district-level committee headed by Collector P. Sankar for the grant of self-employment loans under the Prime Minister’s Employment Guarantee Programme (PMEGP) for 2013-14. The selection was through personal interviews held at the Collectorate here on Wednesday.
According to an official release, out of 207 persons who were called for the interview, 176 appeared, of whom 120 were selected and recommended by the committee for grant of bank loans to the tune of Rs. 1245.64 lakh.
