The underground drainage system belonging (UGDS) to National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) of Vellore corporation is set ready for further drainage works. According to the corporation officials, the first phase of these works commenced by end of March 2009.
As now, nearly 75% of these works are done. Works such as digging and laying sewer lines, conning domestic sewage lines to the main one, manholes closure, etc are over. Other road restoration works are also nearing completion.
