Official news is out regarding the films which will release on the day of Pongal Festival.
Rajini Murugan, Kathakali, Gethu, and Tharai Thappattai are the 4 Tamil Films to be released on Pongal festival as confirmed through advertisements.
The film ‘Aranmanai-2’ has got out of the ‘Pongal Release race’!
Likewise, another film, ‘Ithu Namma Aalu’, directed by Pandiraj with Simbu & Nayanthara in main roles will not get released on Pongal Festival day.
It was announced earlier that the film ‘Mirudhan’ in which ‘Jayam’ Ravi has acted, was to be released on Pongal. There is a possibility that it might be released on Pongal.
It may be remembered that only 2 films were released on Deepavali (when traditionally more films will be released on the importance of the occasion) – Vedhalam (Ajit) & Thoongavanam (Kamal).
It is expected that at least 5 films will be released on Pongal
