The grand Brahmotsavam at Vellore Sri Jalaganteswara temple commenced with divine flag-hoisting ceremony.
The event of the Divine marriage ceremony is scheduled on 27thApril.
On the occasion of the 34th Brahmotsava festival at the temple of Sri Jalaganteswara with His Consort Akilandeswari, Chelliamman Utsavam was celebrated on 21st April. Vinakar Utsavam was celebrated on 22nd April.
The divine flag-hoisting ceremony was performed yesterday (Thursday, 23rd April) in the presence of Rathnagiri Balamuruganadimai Swmigal & Kalavai Sachidananda Swamigal.
Temple secretary Sureshkumar and members of Jalagantre3swarar Dharma Sthapanam with hordes of devotees participated.
This was followed with the procession of ‘Panchamurthys’. Procession of the main deity in the carraiage of swan (annavahanam) across the city streets was taken in the evening on Thursdya, 23rdApril.
The deities of Lord Vinayaka & Lord Chandrasekhara are take out deialy in the mornings. Procession of Panchamurhtys is carried out daily in the evenings.
Today (Friday, 24th April), Procession of the main deity in the carriage of the sacred bull (Adhikara Mahanandhi Vahanam) will be performed at 6.00 PM.
On Saturday, 25th April, procession of the main deity on the carriage of great demon (Maha Bhoothavahanam) will be performed.
On Sunday, 26th April, the procession of the main deity in the carriage of the great sacred serpent (Maha Nagavahanam) will be performed.
On Monday, 27th April, the grand ceremony of divine marriage of the main deity with His consort will be performed.
On Tuesday, 28th April, procession of the main deity on the carriage of great sacred elephant (Maha Yanai vahanam) and 63 nayanmars’ utsavam will be performed.
On Wednesday, 29th April, the celebrated chariot rope-drawing carrying Panchamurthys will be performed in the morning.
On Thursday, 30th April, Pichandavar Utsavam will be performed in the morning. Procession of the main deity in the carriage of great sacred horse (Maha Kudhirai vahanam) will be performed in the evening.
On Friday, 1st May, the procession of the main deity in the carriage of Purusha miruga Vahanam will be performed.
On Saturday, 2nd May, Natarajar Abhishekham & Theerthavari will be performed at 08.30 AM.
In the evening on 2nd May, the ceremony of pulling down the hoisted festival flag will be performed at 4.30 PM.
Procession of the main deity in Ravaneswara Vahanam will be performed in the evening.
On Sunday, 3rd May, Chandkeswara Utsavam and the procession of the main deity Lord Jalaganteswars in a flower-adorned palanquin will be performed at 8.00 PM.
On Monday, 4th May, ‘Vidaiyatri Utsavam’ will be performed.
On Tuesday, 5th May, the day of completion of the featival, ‘Utsava Santhi Abhishekham’ will be performed at 6.00 PM.
The entire arrangement for the grand festival is organised by the members of Jalaganteswarar Dharma Sthapanam.
