District Police Superintendent Ms. Senthilkumari inaugurated the new traffic signal system set up in the road to Katpadi near Vellore CMC on Thursday, 23rd April.
There has always been high density traffic in the section of the road leading to Katpadi between the Vellore old & new Bus Terminus.
Further, the vehicles moving out of CMC also get caught in the frequent traffic jams.
A traffic signal system was set up near the exit gate of CMC. While inaugurating the same, Ms. Senthilkumari informed that new signal systems are to be set up at Ranipet, Muthukadai, and Thirupathur at a cost of Rs. 40 Lakhs for better regulation of traffic.
She also informed that surveillance CCTV cameras are also being installed to monitor the traffic.
Senior local Police & CMC officials participated.
