Plantation of saplings for 100 days at the banks of the Sri chamundeshwari Amman temple in Periyankuppam near Ambut is in progress.
The workers were engaged in the activity of digging for the plantations.
The workers found a 2’ sculpture of ‘Swayambu Amman’ in one of the holes.
Crowds started gathering as soon as this information spread.
The crowd of devotees organised to clean the deity and perform decoration and the pojjas for the deity.
One of the female employees got possessed and informed that the deity was ‘Chinna chamundeshwari to be with the main temple deity of the Senior chamundeshwari. She demanded that the special festival should be performed for this deity as well during the regular annual festival conducted in the Tamil month of Masi.
The tahsildar arrived at the place and took possession of the deity and informed that it will be sent to the Vellore Archaeological Department.
